U.S. Senate Candidate John Deaton Criticizes Elizabeth Warren’s Continued Failure on Immigration

Federal government, and Elizabeth Warren, Have No Plan for Thousands of Migrants Already Settled in Massachusetts

WOBURN – Following President Joe Biden’s executive order restricting asylum seekers at the southern border, John Deaton criticized Senator Warren’s continued inaction on the immigration crisis.

“Unfortunately, this executive order comes after more than 9 million migrants have already arrived,” Deaton said. “Elizabeth Warren’s silence on this crisis has cost Massachusetts taxpayers – including an expected $1 billion just this year – and seen our most vulnerable citizens and veterans lose access to important amenities while leaving migrants themselves as victims.”

He continued: “Elizabeth Warren has been at the forefront of politicizing the humanitarian crisis at the southern border, and now she has an opportunity to join me in criticizing this order for what it doesn’t do: expedite work permits, increase federal funding for state governments, or reimburse our cities and towns for the cost of maintaining shelters against their wishes. She has repeatedly opposed bipartisan legislation aimed at mitigating the border crisis, despite appeals from her own state’s Democratic leadership.”

Last year, Elizabeth Warren publicly opposed the Biden administration’s intent to restrict asylum cases in an open letter to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Justice.

JOHN DEATON will fight for what is right.
